Replacement is often the better long-term choice when gutters have widespread corrosion, repeated seam leaks, bent sections, extensive sagging, or improperly sized runs. If fascia boards are rotted, they should be repaired before new gutters are attached. Installing new gutters over damaged wood only hides the underlying problem and risks premature failure.
